5-9 Inside Agave Cocina: Lower Queen Anne’s New House of Tequilla & Tacos

Eater.com

Agave Cocina & Tequila swung its doors open this week in the new Expo building in Lower Queen Anne. (Sound familiar? Agave’s neighbors include Triumph Bar, Roaring Bowl, and Taylor Shellfish.) Owner Federico Ramos designed the space’s custom ironwork and fixtures, then had them crafted close to Guadalajara, where he was born.

The local chain launched in Issaquah and opened a second store in Redmond last year. Ramos imported several of the new location’s 150 tequilas from Mexico; the drink list also includes red and white sangria and a handful of margaritas, like one infused with sage and another with cilantro & jalapeño.

Agave serves lunch (garlic roasted cauliflower tacos, pozole, corn cactus salad) and dinner (sopes, tamales, pollo poblano) daily, as well as weekend brunch. Happy hour runs from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. and 10 p.m. to close.
